The Cuban passport is one of the most restricted in the world and the second worst in Latin America, according to the Global Passport Ranking by the British firm Henley & Partners, which specializes in citizenship services.
According to the Henley Passport Index, the original and most authoritative ranking of all passports in the world, Cuba ranks 78th with 62 visa-free countries, two fewer than in the previous ranking three months ago.
The Henley Passport Index is updated four times a year. These updates usually occur in the months of January, April, July, and October.
This index ranks the world's passports according to the number of destinations that their holders can access without needing to obtain a prior visa.
Cuba is the second worst travel document in Latin America, only behind Haiti, which has the passport with the lowest reputation in the region.
The Henley index includes 199 passports and 227 travel destinations, providing users with the most extensive and reliable information about their access and global mobility.
Countries like Singapore, France, Germany, and Italy are at the forefront of the index, allowing their citizens to travel visa-free to up to 195 destinations around the world, highlighting the gap in access to international travel without visa restrictions between developed and third-world countries.
