A Cuban woman asked for help this Wednesday in finding her dog named Loky and offered a reward for anyone who brings him back.
Marlene Ramírez announced on Facebook that her chihuahua dog went missing at 12:00 PM, and in her desperation, she offered a reward of 5,000 pesos for its return.
Ramírez explained that there is a very distressed child due to the disappearance of the dog. "Please help me," he pleaded.
In the comments section, Isvel Penton Bernal reported that dogs are disappearing: "They've been stealing them for days; several have been taken from around my house, and we don't know anything about it. We need to report this."
Reports of lost or stolen dogs are common in Cuba, as are people who, in their desperation, offer rewards. Some of these stories have happy endings.
A Cuban family that reported the theft of their two Chihuahua puppies recovered their pets last Sunday. The dogs were found after someone purchased them and decided to return them to their owners.
"We found them," said Mayrelis Garcés González in the Facebook group "SOS Callejeros Cuba," as she shared images and videos showcasing the girl's joy at being reunited with her pets.
In July, a Cuban woman reported feeling tormented by the disappearance of her pet, a chihuahua named Milán.
Yahima Tamayo Cuello shared photos of her puppy on her Facebook profile and asked for the empathy of anyone who finds him so she can recover her pet.
