The story of a dog that refused to leave its deceased companion in Havana has touched the hearts of animal protectors, who are now dedicated to finding the dog's owner.
Lizzy's Pet Rescue shared a touching story on Sunday in the Facebook group "Animal Protection Society in Cuba" about a dog that refused to leave its deceased companion.
"Today at noon, we rescued this little dog during a heavy rain shower. It was keeping watch over its deceased companion. Both were well cared for and tick-free, so I assume they are from a home," noted the activist, who indicated that the dog was rescued at 29A and 70, Buenavista, Playa.
Negro, as he called the dog, would not leave the side of the deceased female dog. "We had to move him away from her with some coaxing in order to take the body and remove it from the street," he noted.
The moving story has prompted the shelter to seek out the person responsible for the dog: "If the owner sees this post, please message me at 54836238," she said.
In the comments section, many people agreed on the loyalty of dogs and the need to find the owners of the dog.
This Monday, animal protectors appealed for help for a cat that is missing part of its face and was seen on a street in Havana.
Dianeya Pérez reported in the Facebook group “Animal Protection Society in Cuba” that the feline was located in Lawton, “on Gertrudis Street between Segunda and Primera”.
Recently, a puppy was abandoned at a corner in the Playa de La Habana municipality with a sign asking for help in taking care of it.
