Cuqui La Mora, excited to perform in New York: "I can't believe it."

"When you are in Cuba, you feel that everything is unattainable, you see everything as far away, you feel like you are in a hole, on another planet, and when you arrive here you realize that everything is there, you just have to fight to get there and when you arrive and achieve something, no matter how small, it fills you with a lot of emotion."

The Cuban comedian Aleanys Jáuregui, artistically known as Cuqui La Mora, shared an emotional video on her social media celebrating her performance in New York.

In the video, recorded from the airport, Cuqui expressed her enthusiasm and excitement for this important achievement in her career.

"Maybe for some it’s not something very relevant, but for me it is. I've been meaning to make this video for a while, I've tried to do it several times, but I get excited and in the end, I don't finish it. So here I am at the airport, let me make the video," Cuqui began by saying.

Then he continued reflecting on the difficulties many Cubans face, and how arriving in another country can change their perspective on dreams that seem unattainable: "Cubans, I imagine many experience this, when you are in Cuba, you feel that everything is out of reach, you see everything as far away, you feel like you are in a hole on another planet, you know? And when you get here, you realize that everything is there, you just have to fight to get there. And when you arrive and achieve something, no matter how small, it gives you a lot of excitement."

Finally, he announced with great excitement that he would be presenting his Stand Up comedy in New York.

"For me, that is very exciting because I remember in Cuba watching movies, you know, Broadway, the theaters, all the events that happen there, the performances, and suddenly realizing that my name is going to be on the marquee of one of those theaters. I can't believe it," she said in her video where she encouraged people not to miss the show and expressed words of appreciation to those who have supported her and believed in her.

The reactions to the video have been overwhelmingly positive: "You deserve it, Cuqui. You are very natural, we were neighbors in Cuba and I have always followed you"; "You deserve so many good things. Thousands of blessings for you and may moments as happy as this come"; "Girl, you not only have a sense of humor but also a lovely spirit. You are sweet and affectionate. Congratulations! Believe in yourself and keep fighting"; "You deserve this, my girl, you work very hard! I hope that little by little you achieve all your dreams and more!", reads among the hundreds of congratulations and messages of support, recognition, and celebration for her new professional achievement.
