Vilma Vilarino Knips, owner of the popular restaurant chain Las Vegas Cuban Cuisine and La Casita, sold her mansion in North Miami for a record price of $21 million.

The initial sale price of this house, located at 11420 North Bayshore Drive, was around 24 million and has set a new milestone in the coastal city.

The Real Deal noted that the residence, completed this year and designed by Portuondo Perotti, has 12,600 square feet, six bedrooms, and seven and a half bathrooms.

The mansion, with a waterfront of approximately 100 feet, includes a private dock, an infinity pool, and an outdoor kitchen.

The property, spanning 0.4 acres, was co-listed by Joel Lusky and Alexander Knips of The Brokerage South Florida, with an initial price of $23.9 million. Dina Goldentayer of Douglas Elliman represented the buyer, whose identity has not been disclosed.

Vilma Vilarino Knips and her husband, Jimmy Knips, CEO of The Christmas Palace, bought the land in 2019 for $2.7 million.

Vilarino owns more than a dozen restaurants, including Ku-Va Restaurant and Vila’s Cuban & Mexican Restaurant. However, Las Vegas Cuban Cuisine has established itself as a benchmark in South Florida for authentic Cuban food since 1984.

The history of this landmark business in Florida's gastronomy began after the Mariel exodus in the 1980s, when thousands of Cubans left the island and settled in the United States. The Vilarino family claims to have been among them.

The sale of this property also broke the San Souci neighborhood record, doubling the previous one set in 2021 with the sale of a beachfront house for $10.6 million.
