Cuban Luis Alberto Orta finally won the bronze medal in the 67 kilograms greco-Roman wrestling category at the Paris Olympic Games this Thursday.
Orta defeated the Armenian Slavik Galstyan 7-0, easily surpassing him to secure his second Olympic medal, alongside the gold from Tokyo 2020, in the immediately lower division.
The Antillean had lost on Wednesday to the Iranian Saeid Esmaeili, who this Thursday will compete for gold against the Ukrainian Parviz Nasibov.
However, Orta had defeated the Algerian Ishak Chaiou by superiority 9-0 in the repechage of the 67 kg category on Thursday morning, which allowed him to compete for the bronze that he has ultimately won.
Cuba is currently in 20th place in the medal table with a total of six medals: two gold, one silver, and three bronze.
