Cuban communists celebrate Fidel Castro's birthday with a cake.

Young communists from the special municipality Isla de la Juventud celebrated this Tuesday the 98th anniversary of Fidel Castro's birth, as part of the Cuban regime's call to honor the memory and ideals of the late dictator.

On the social network Facebook, the profile of the Islavisión Icrt channel highlighted that members of the Union of Young Communists held a camp out at Arenas Negras camping site to wait for the birthday "of the leader of the Revolution."

Likewise, the publication highlighted “the worth and commitment of the youth towards the Revolution,” as “Fidel always relied on the youth to undertake the most difficult tasks.”

All of this amidst a growing social unrest due to blackouts and the economic difficulties affecting the population, but the regime reaffirms its commitment to the path of the revolution and assures that the people will move forward inspired by the ideals of the late Castro.

"Today we are all Fidel, and no matter how great the challenges may be, this people of great men and women will continue along the path of the Revolution and Socialism alongside him, with their absolute confidence in victory," published the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the social network X, after celebrating a political-cultural gala.

For his part, the ruler Miguel Díaz-Canel wrote: “Cuba waited last night for its 98th birthday in a sea of youth, which shouted in unison Fidel, Fidel, Fidel, with the same passion as its parents and grandparents. It is the name of the Cuban Revolution for all times. Happy birthday, Commander.”

The regime's insistence on the importance of the revolution and Fidel has been remarkable despite the prevailing context of economic and social crises in the country.

Workers of the Central Bank celebrated the 98th birthday of the so-called leader of the Revolution, a celebration that was extended to various workplaces, according to social media.

Meanwhile, the blackouts exacerbate the difficulties faced by the people, who struggle to eat each day amid unprecedented inflation in the Caribbean nation.

But for the rulers, what is significant is to pay tribute to the deceased dictator, and to emphasize the importance of national unity and political continuity as foundations for the future of Cuba.
