Amidst a growing social unrest due to blackouts and economic difficulties affecting the population, the Cuban regime reaffirms its commitment to the path of the revolution and assures that the people will move forward inspired by the ideals of the late Fidel Castro.

The different statements are reaffirmed this Tuesday during the commemoration of the 98th anniversary of the dictator's birth, whom they celebrate as if he were alive, regardless of the misery of the majority of the island's inhabitants.

“Today we are all Fidel, and no matter how great the challenges are, this people of great men and women will continue on the path of the Revolution and Socialism alongside him, with their absolute confidence in victory,” published the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the X social network, after holding a political-cultural gala.

For his part, the ruler Miguel Díaz-Canel wrote: “Cuba awaited its 98th birthday last night in a sea of youth, shouting in unison Fidel, Fidel, Fidel, with the same passion as their parents and grandparents. It is the name of the Cuban Revolution for all times. Happy birthday, Commander.”

The regime's insistence on the relevance of the revolution and Fidel has been remarkable despite the prevailing context of economic and social crises in the country.

Workers of the Central Bank celebrated the 98th birthday of the so-called leader of the Revolution, an event that extended to various workplaces, according to social media.

Meanwhile, the blackouts exacerbate the difficulties faced by the people, who struggle to eat every day amid unprecedented inflation in the island nation.

But for the rulers, what is significant is to pay tribute to the deceased dictator and to emphasize the importance of national unity and political continuity as foundations for the future of Cuba.
