Cubana from Miami warns about a scam attempt: "Good thing I didn't do it."

A Cuban woman in Miami shares her experience on TikTok about how she almost fell for a scam after receiving a suspicious package that contained an unsolicited ring.

A Cuban woman from Miami warned in a TikTok video that went viral about a possible scam attempt that almost made her a victim. "I have to make this video because I almost became a victim of a robbery, a scam," the woman begins, visibly worried.

In her story, the Cuban woman explains that she received an unexpected package at her home. "I received a little package; I always receive packages because I buy or have items sent to me for my reviews," she mentions. However, this particular shipment seemed suspicious to her since it contained a ring she had not ordered. "I thought it was strange because I hadn't requested any ring like that," she states, adding that she even consulted with her husband, as the ring wasn't even her size.

What caught her attention the most was that the package included a card with a QR code that requested to be scanned to enter personal data. "It arrived with a card that has a QR code for you to put in your information and that's where the scam is," she warns. The Cuban emphasizes that this type of code could be used by scammers to access sensitive information. "It will grab your data from your phone, from the bank, from social media," she explains.

Fortunately, the woman did not fall into the trap, thanks to having seen a video on TikTok where a man explained this type of scam. "Thank goodness I didn't do it," she says with relief. Finally, her message for those who follow her is clear: "If you receive a suspicious object asking you to scan it, don’t do it."

In the comments, many users shared their similar experiences, thus confirming that this scam attempt is widespread in different areas.
