The Lidio Ramón Pérez (Felton) thermoelectric plant in Holguín was taken offline from the national electric system this Tuesday due to a boiler puncture.
Felton's account on Facebook reported the incident without providing further details.
The CTE has also not specified how long it will take to repair the breakdown.
Amid the energy crisis that the country is experiencing, the news of this new malfunction at Felton intensifies the population's discontent, as they see blackouts worsening every day.
"One doesn’t come out of one to enter another," expressed a Cuban immigrant.
"Now it is 'ponchadura,' another little word for the energy dictionary. Now they spend time publishing repair work and the top leaders controlling the thermoelectric disasters, well, just to show Cuba the great sacrifice of the leaders," questioned a professor.
"Bravo! Here we can appreciate the quality of the work done and the appropriateness of the 'summer strategy.' Diploma and gladiolus for the inability and incompetence of that heroic collective that blah blah blah. It cannot be denied that when it comes to cleaning tubes, they are useless, but when it comes to inflating, they are the first," stated a worker from the young computer club.
"We are finishing the summer with blackouts at full speed, as forecasted; they deceived a people with so many false promises, and the top leaders of this country are doing nothing and siding with the lie," said a resident of Granma.
