A waterspout, accompanied by a funnel cloud, was spotted this Wednesday over Charlotte Harbor, west of Pirate Harbor, in southwestern Florida.
Meteorologist Matt Devitt raised awareness about the phenomenon through his Facebook account, noting that so far there have been no reports of damage or indications that the waterspout has made landfall.
"There are still no reports that it has made landfall," he noted.
This weekend, a surprising weather phenomenon occurred in Miami when a waterspout formed near Downtown, astonishing residents who spotted it from their apartments.
The images, taken from a building in the heart of the city, showed the threatening approach of this weather formation toward a yacht sailing in the bay.
Last July, the severe weather that swept through southern Florida left striking images on social media of what appears to be an impressive waterspout in the Key Biscayne area of Miami-Dade County.
Several witnesses captured the clearly defined weather phenomenon on camera.
