Latina laments that "there is nothing" in the streets of the United States: "Not even a salsa, no one playing dominoes on the corner."

A Latina has gone viral on TikTok after sharing her surprise at the tranquility of the streets in the United States, contrasting them with the vibrant social life of the Dominican Republic.

A young Dominican woman has gone viral on TikTok after sharing a video in which she shows her surprise while walking through the streets of the United States. In the video, she strolls through a seemingly quiet neighborhood and highlights the cultural differences she notices compared to her home country, the Dominican Republic.

"Look, this is the United States. Not a little bachata, not a salsa, no one playing dominos on the corner," she comments while walking through the lonely streets. The young woman continues pointing out the lack of activities that are common for her in her country: "This is the United States. There isn’t even anyone on the street. No one is in the yard. No one is outside drinking coffee. Not a single neighbor shouts if they want coffee. This place is dead," the young woman laments, identifying herself as @iam_yahelis.

"One thinks that they're going to get mugged here, and I don't know by whom. There's no one on the street. You know. This is the United States. You don't see a single cat on the street, not a single dog," he says at another moment in the video, which has gone viral and generated a wide variety of reactions.

"That is quality of life and not the competition between neighbors with a scandal and a noise of music that is unbearable. I like that peace," "And still many want the American dream," "They leave the neighborhood but the neighborhood doesn't leave them," "Really, I don't want to live that life," "Vocea, you are Dominican, make a coffee and call your neighbors," or "I don't like it either, there's no atmosphere," they said in the comments.
