Cuban sprinter Omara Durand Elías has made history again this Saturday by finishing her participation in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games with a new gold medal, her third, won this time in the final of the 200 meters, category T12, alongside her guide Yunior Kindelán Vargas.

With this victory, the athlete from Santiago adds 11 titles, solidifying her as a legend in the world of Paralympic sports.

Durand not only won the 200 meters, where he recorded a time of 23.62 seconds, but also claimed the titles in the 100 and 400 meters of his class, demonstrating once again his absolute dominance on the track.

This feat in Paris repeats its achievements from previous editions, in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2021, where it also claimed three titles in each.

At 32 years old, the Cuban bids farewell to the tracks triumphantly, leaving an indelible legacy in Paralympic athletics.

His name is already inscribed in golden letters in the history of Olympism, not only for his impressive records and victories, but also for the inspiration he has provided to millions of people around the world.

Omara Durand, known as the "queen of the tracks," has been a reference not only for athletes with disabilities but for all of Cuban sports.

Her dedication, perseverance, and talent have made her one of the greatest figures in international Paralympic sports.

With her eleventh title, Omara makes it clear that she is one of the best Paralympic athletes of all time, a pride for Cuba and an example for future generations.
