Cuban baseball player Yadir Drake touches the hearts of his followers after playing tag in his neighborhood of Matanzas.

Cuban baseball player Yadir Drake, a player in the Mexican Baseball League (LMB) with the Yucatán Leones, is currently visiting Cuba and recently left a beautiful image of simplicity and return to his roots after playing street baseball in his neighborhood in Matanzas.

"There is no doubt that Drake is a person who knows how to win over most people with the things he does off the field," pointed out sports journalist Yasel Porto on Facebook, reflecting on the scene.

In the images, the baseball player is seen having a great time with two friends from the neighborhood, amid the curious gaze of several children and other witnesses who joined as spectators of the game.

In the comments section, dozens of internet users praised her attitude and humility.

"Man, I wish there were more people like you in the world, coming from playing in a professional league and then playing street soccer with your friends, barefoot, is an example of simplicity. Here, there are those with less status and their ego kills them," commented one of the many followers who were moved by the scene.

It is not the first time that Yadir Drake stands out for gestures that reveal his simplicity and also his kindness.

In May of this year, the Cuban gardener gifted sneakers to the maintenance team of the Los Leones de Yucatán stadium, which has been his team since 2019.

Gratitude is one of his virtues, and he made this evident in 2020 when, in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, Drake donated a ton of pork and cash to families living in the Yucatecan town of El Cuyo.

The gesture had a nice story behind it: Drake played with the semiprofessional team "Rebeldes del Cuyo" for a while and has always confessed that he feels a lot of gratitude towards that community, which supported him before he became one of the main figures in the Mexican Baseball League.

The meat and the money given by Drake on that occasion were meant to feed the families of his former teammates in the Yucatecan team.

Born on April 12, 1990, he left Cuba in 2011 on a boat bound for Mexico, where he established himself in semi-professional leagues.

In 2014, he signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers in Major League Baseball. He then returned to Mexican baseball with the Durango Generals, with whom he won the batting title of the LMB in 2017, and from there, he moved to the Japanese team Nippon Ham Fighters.

In 2018, he returned to the Aztec country with the Sultanes de Monterrey, and the following year he became part of the Leones de Yucatán.
