The campaign team of the Democratic candidate for the White House, Kamala Harris, made a promotional video in which she attacked Donald Trump, portraying the Republican as an incompetent and untrustworthy person to hold the office, according to the words of advisors and former senior officials from his administration.
The video will be broadcast this Tuesday during the hours leading up to the televised debate between Harris and Trump on Fox, an event for which both campaign teams have been preparing, keeping in mind that it could be the decisive moment of the 2024 presidential elections.
"In 2016, Donald Trump said that he would choose only the best people to work in his administration. Now those people have a warning for America: Trump is not fit to be president again," the video begins by saying.
To support this message, the Democrats chose statements offered to the media by members of their cabinet such as former Vice President Mike Pence and former National Security Advisor John Bolton.
"Anyone who places themselves above the Constitution should never be president of the United States. It shouldn't be a surprise that I will not support Donald Trump in this election," Pence says in the video.
Mark Esper, former Secretary of Defense, appears in the clip stating that Trump would not be a reliable president regarding the nation's secret and intelligence information. "Trump can never be trusted again. It would be an irresponsible action that would endanger our service members and the security of our nation," says Esper in a clip from an interview with CNN used in the video.
"Donald Trump will cause a lot of damage. The only thing that matters to Donald Trump is Donald Trump," says Bolton, while the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mark Milley, speaks with harsh words directed at Trump during a speech: "We do not swear an oath to a king, or a queen, or a tyrant…, and certainly, we do not swear an oath to a would-be dictator."
Finally, the video ends with a campaign message. “This is what those who know him best think. Donald Trump is a danger to our troops and our democracy. We cannot let him lead our country again. I am Kamala Harris and I approve this message.”
Eight weeks before election day and with early voting starting this month in some key states, there is a lot at stake as Harris and Trump face off for 90 minutes in prime time at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia.
"There is a lot, a lot, a lot at stake. This is going to be a very, very important moment in the campaign," David Kochel, a veteran Republican strategist and veteran of numerous presidential campaigns of the Republican Party, told Fox News Digital.
Aware of the visceral nature of the Republican, Harris's campaign team is trying to irritate Trump in the days and hours leading up to the confrontation. "There is no limit for him in how low he can go. And we have to be prepared for that. We have to be prepared for the fact that he does not have the burden of telling the truth," said Joe Biden's vice president in a radio interview on the eve of the debate.
Hours later, this Tuesday, Harris made another strike against the Republican, focusing on Trump's age and his apparent obsession with the size of crowds. Tonight they will face each other.
