A student from the Josué País School in Santiago de Cuba has reportedly been threatened for sending an image that shows the unfortunate condition of her classroom's blackboard.
Journalist Yosmany Mayeta, who made the image of the dilapidated blackboard go viral, thereby debunking the regime's claim that everything was ready for the school year, explained on Facebook this Thursday that a family member informed him that the young woman will be brought before the school's administration, where she will receive a "warning notice," as if she had committed a crime.
However, Mayeta clarified that the image in question, like many others that depict the poor conditions in the schools of Santiago de Cuba, was taken by a teacher, not by the student.
"The whistleblowers regarding the issues in the city's schools have been the teachers, exhausted from working in terrible conditions," she emphasized.
The case, which has raised concerns among the student's family, could result in an unjust sanction, a typical reaction from the regime to conceal the sad reality faced by the Cuban people.
"I will be monitoring this case and what may happen this Friday against an innocent student in Santiago de Cuba," emphasized Mayeta.
The journalist shared the image in question on Facebook this Wednesday, accompanying it with the message: "Achievements of a revolutionary education in Cuba," he quipped.
The photograph went viral on social media when several profiles and news outlets shared it, highlighting the lies of the regime, which repeatedly claimed that the school year would commence with all the necessary conditions in place.
