Alexander Abreu was unable to give his all, as he usually does for his audience, at the most recent Havana D’ Primera concert in Cancun, Mexico, due to not feeling well physically.
The leader of the Cuban group apologized to everyone present for what happened through the official orchestra account on Facebook.
"Good morning. Yesterday was a difficult day for me. I couldn't continue with my concert in Cancún. Imagine singing in a sauna; I think it was 50 degrees Celsius. I want to add that the time we started working was the one designated by the venue that hired us. Havana D’ Primera is ready early," the musician clarified in his post.
"My sadness is that there was a beautiful audience, people I hadn't seen in a long time, lovely people who waited for me to sing with them, and I couldn't give them 100 percent of myself. I almost lost consciousness; if I had been there for one more second, I think I would have… A thousand thanks to the guy in the audience who sang 'Me dicen Cuba' from below. For me, that was the most exciting part. I owe you more, my people. Thank you," the artist added.
Several attendees at the concert wrote in the comments that the most important thing is his health and thanked him for waiting until two in the morning to please the audience. Although he could only sing for an hour, they appreciated him for making them dance and enjoy despite the venue and temperature conditions not being the best.
These days, Havana D' Primera has had several performances in the Aztec country. In Mexico City, they had the entire audience dancing at Mamá Rumba, a nightclub where Cuban music is played.
