Spanish rapper sparks criticism on TikTok after showing a "seafood feast" in Cuba.

"It's because you go with euros; if you work in Cuba with the first dish costing 1500 pesos, your salary for the month is gone."

The Compostela rapper Erin Castro (Comando Katana) has once again sparked a wave of questions and criticism on TikTok after posting a new video of his stay in Cuba, this time from a visit to a restaurant in Jagüey Grande.

In the clip, @eltrapicista shows a "seafood platter" that includes crab and lobster, at a total cost of 3,440 Cuban pesos, equivalent to 9.4 euros. The post has generated harsh criticism, with many users pointing out that both the dishes and the price are prohibitive for most Cubans on the island.

"Luxuries that are only within the reach of tourists in Cuba"; "You spent half of a doctor's monthly salary on one lunch"; "If you knew that this is a salary for any Cuban, that is, what you see as cheap would be a meal for a month's work"; "Cheap for someone coming from another country, those who live in Cuba with a salary of 2500 a month I don't think find it cheap"; "I am Spanish and I do not visit a communist dictatorship"; "If it's a way to promote that a lunch in Cuba costs what an average Cuban cannot afford because it’s their monthly salary. Your smile to attract tourists to the dictatorship is sad"; "Seriously whitewashing the Cuban regime? Half of Cubans are starving, the other half have fled the country. And the tyrants are living in mansions," some reacted, among which there were also supportive comments and questions about calling those dishes seafood, especially since he is Galician.

"What happens is that in Cuba no one earns in euros and the people from the village can't eat there. So save your videos"; "For you who are a foreigner, but the average Cuban cannot"; "How nice, you all are enjoying and it's cheap, and Cubans can't even have breakfast, let alone eat any of that. Poor people"; "Shame that the people cannot buy, it's even prohibited to fish for lobster"; "Oh my God, 1500 pesos, that's my dad's retirement after working his whole life for that government. What a shame. It may sound wonderful to you, but for us, it's terribly embarrassing"; "Enjoy your meal, you who can with your euros exchanged for almost useless pesos. The Cuban people can't even dream of a meal like that," others added among the hundreds of comments that have been provoked by the new video of their stay in Cuba, where they recently filmed a music video.

Prior to this controversy, the rapper had also caused a stir by sharing other videos from his stay in Cuba. In one of them, he commented on the 'low' prices at a restaurant in the capital; in another, he shared his experience at a gym in Old Havana, provoking, in both cases, questions from users who mostly drew his attention to the harsh reality faced by Cubans on the island, which differs greatly from the one enjoyed by tourists like him.

What do you think?
