Cuban dies after fight where he was stabbed in Santa Clara.

Neighbors in a neighborhood in the city of Santa Clara deeply mourned the passing, last Saturday, of Maxi Juviel, known as “El Quema'o,” expressing the need for peace in the community.

The deceased was a resident of the José Martí neighborhood in the city of Santa Clara, apparently having lived there for many years, which earned him the affection of many neighbors.

According to the user Remberto Azcui, who shared an account of the events in the Facebook group "accidents and murders throughout Cuba," the deceased fought for his life for a week after having a machete fight with another person. However, he died last Saturday.

Both individuals were injured in the confrontation, and El Quema'o's life was severely compromised due to the intervention of a third person, in this case, a woman.

Azcui classified the alleged aggressor as a person with "extremely poor social behavior" and identified her as a known individual in the community. However, the reasons that led to the tragic event were not disclosed.

For his part, the user Luis Enrique Batista Pozo pointed out on Facebook that both families are "devastated."

He also asked that "the people of the neighborhood," referring to José Martí in Santa Clara, especially the "old" part, due to the fact that this community has been an area of housing growth in the city, "we have treated each other like family, whether we are inside or outside."

Many neighbors accompanied their messages of condolences with memories of the deceased.

One person recalled that "El Quema'o worked as a gas messenger here in the José Martí neighborhood," while another user confessed that he leaves a "great void at the four corners of the neighborhood." "He was our neighbor for many years, no one deserves a death like that," added another internet user.

This attack adds to a series of violent incidents in which some people have lost their lives, such as the case, at the beginning of August, of a 28-year-old man identified as Raciel Palacios, a resident of the Reparto Altamira in Santiago de Cuba, who was stabbed near a bus stop in that locality.

Also, another Cuban, 36 years old, died after receiving "two machete blows from behind while dancing with his wife" during a party in the town of Chile, part of the municipality of San Luis, in Santiago de Cuba.

The victim was identified as Luis Ángel García Torres and the attack allegedly stemmed from "a settling of scores" from a previous altercation.

A few days ago, neighbors from the municipality of Cruces, in Cienfuegos, helped a man who was stabbed in the street during a blackout.

According to reports, the man was walking unsteadily until he fell at a corner and began to ask for help almost imperceptibly.
