Public bus with the message "Long live Fidel and Raúl" causes outrage in Miami

An official from the transit department of the Department of Transportation explained that they hacked the vendor that manages that type of screens.

A public service vehicle in Miami-Dade displaying a message praising dictators Fidel and Raúl Castro on its front has caused surprise and outrage.

It is a bus from the MetroLink service, operated by the county, which was seen over the weekend with a light-up sign that read "Long live Fidel and Raúl."

The incident occurred at the busy intersection of NW 8th Street and 49th.

A driver recorded the scene and spread it on social media, where it went viral.

MetroLink, a new free service in Miami-Dade, connects residents from areas with limited access to public transportation with important destinations such as the airport, Tri-Rail, and Miami Beach.

Idael Díaz, a resident of Miami-Dade, filed a formal complaint with the Department of Transportation. "I couldn't allow a message like that to circulate on the streets of Miami. This does not reflect the values of our community," he stated to Telemundo 51.

According to what she said, an official from the transit department responded that the vendor managing that type of screens had been hacked.

The network revealed that the authorities are investigating the case and that an official statement should be released in the coming hours.
