Amid high levels of non-compliance with the regulated family basket, the official press in Cuba reported the arrival of two ships at the port of Cienfuegos, loaded with rice and salt.
In a report from the state-run Canal Caribe published on the social network Facebook, details about the shipment were provided. The products arrived from Vietnam and are intended for the population.
Likewise, the audiovisual emphasizes the work of the port brigades, which do not halt their actions despite the harsh weather conditions caused by the recent rains.
The arrival of these products is considered vital amidst the supply crisis affecting the country.
Likewise, the Ministry of Domestic Trade (MINCIN) highlighted the arrival on platform X.
While Minister Betsy Díaz Velázquez posted that the distribution of salt, sugar, peas, and baby food from the regulated family basket has started in Minas de Matahambre.
Velázquez herself announced two weeks ago that “we do not have plans for the month of September, just as there was none in August, for either oil or coffee.”
The shortages of the products that the government regulates for its population continue through September, where Cubans will stop receiving coffee and oil, there are shortages in the distribution of sugar, and the pounds of the remaining products are not being completed for another consecutive month.
