This is how currencies are in the Cuban informal market.

The black foreign exchange market in Cuba remains stable, with high prices in the three main currencies, reflecting the current economic crisis.

The irregular currency market in Cuba continues to display a trend of relative stability, as there have been no changes in recent hours.

Currently, the US dollar (USD) is quoted at 320 Cuban pesos (CUP), while the euro (EUR) reaches 330 CUP. Meanwhile, the freely convertible currency (MLC) has a value of 270 CUP since Saturday.

These prices show a slight stability compared to previous weeks, although they remain indicators of the economic crisis that the island is going through, where inflation and the scarcity of foreign currency strongly impact the purchasing power of citizens.

Despite the stability, prices remain high for the population that depends on the government salary, a minimum of 2,100 CUP, which means that state workers, retirees, and all those who do not have income in dollars are getting even closer to the threshold of extreme poverty.

A Cuban whose only income comes from receiving the minimum wage will be earning the equivalent of 6.66 USD.
