Ovi appears in court after being arrested in Miami.

The judge imposed a bail of $6,500 and a restraining order against a Venezuelan model whom he pointed a gun at while driving.

The Cuban singer Ovidio Crespo, better known as Ovi, appeared in court this Wednesday after being arrested the day before in Miami for possession of controlled substances, verbal assault with a firearm, and publicly displaying a firearm.

Ovi appeared before Judge Mindy Glazer, who set a bond of $6,500 and issued a restraining order against the Venezuelan model Giussepe Benignini, whom he pointed a gun at while driving in Miami.

According to a live update on Facebook by journalist Mario Vallejo from Univisión, the rapper will not be able to communicate personally or electronically with the victim.

"At this time, he is facing several charges, one for aggravated assault, which I assume is the moment he takes the firearm from his car, in a case very similar to road rage. But this goes further, because he pointed the firearm at the driver of the other car," he explained.

"Also, carrying a firearm and showing it illegally," he added.

The singer was arrested on Tuesday, September 17, in Miami after Giussepe Benignini reported him for pointing a gun at him while driving in Miami.

"I'm driving and I see a car, a McLaren, suddenly come in front of me. I honk the horn because it almost hits me, and when I honk, the driver stops and pulls out a gun. [...] I thought he was going to shoot me," the young man recounted.

The video of the Cuban's arrest is circulating on social media.

On the same day of the incident, Ovi shared a post on his social media where he looked happy in his colorful McLaren.

This fact adds to other similar incidents involving the Cuban singer in recent years in the United States, where he has been arrested several times.

In 2021, he had a confrontation with another singer and also displayed a weapon in public.
