OneA family residing in Santiago de Cuba has a garbage dump at the door of their home.a situation that they have been enduring for over a year and to which no one is responding, despite their complaints and reports to various government bodies.
The incident occurs on Serafín Sánchez street, between 8 and 9, in the Flores neighborhood of the main municipality, where waste invades the surroundings of the house and only a narrow path remains clear for entering the home.
"The intestines of males and garbage bags, or God knows what else, reach here. The stench of dead animals is unbearable," reported one of the affected individuals to independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada.
The reporter shared on his Facebook wall a video recorded by the owner, where it shows that the large dump covers the entire sidewalk and does not allow people to pass.
"Who do I need to see for this lack of respect, which is the door of my house? But since no one here cares at all," demanded the author of the video.
"This has been going on for over a year: male guts, male droppings, there’s everything here, so they can come see it. Twenty thousand leaders have come and nobody here provides a solution," he added indignantly.
The man, who lives in a property on the upper floor, has to endure even people throwing trash on the exterior stairs, where there are excrement, nylon bags, and even baby diapers.
"Since nobody here is interested in this, the one who is interested is me, as I can no longer pass through the door of his house and the plague is killing someone here. I need to know who I have to go see for this situation," he concluded.
