Ryan Wesley Routh, 58 years old, and accused of an attempted murder at a golf course in Florida against former president Donald Trump, the current Republican candidate for the White House, allegedly wrote a note in which he left evidence of his intentions and detailed the plan.

The new information emerged during a hearing this Monday in which the Department of Justice argued that Routh should remain incarcerated while the investigation progresses. "The weight of the evidence against the defendant is strong," said U.S. Magistrate Ryon McCabe during the session.

The note was deposited in a box that had been left months earlier in the house of an unidentified person, who did not open it until after the arrest that took place last Sunday. In addition to the note, the box contained ammunition, a metal tube, construction materials, tools, phones, and several letters.

Addressed to "Dear World," the note stated that the action would be unsuccessful. "This was an assassination attempt against Donald Trump, but I failed. I did the best I could and gathered all the courage I could muster," the note expressed, according to prosecutors.

Another part of the text also said: "He [Trump] ended relations with Iran like a child and now the Middle East has crumbled."

The Department of Justice cited other evidence, including cell phone records, which indicate that Routh traveled to West Palm Beach from Greensboro in mid-August, and that he was near the Trump golf club and the former president's residence at Mar-a-Lago for "several days and hours" between August 18 and the day of the apparent assassination attempt.

The man was arrested on Sunday, September 15, when a Secret Service agent who was inspecting the Trump International Golf Club for potential security threats saw the partially obscured face of a man and the barrel of a semiautomatic rifle pointing directly at him.

The agent shot at Routh, but he managed to flee. However, he was apprehended on Interstate 95, thanks to statements from a witness who saw him. Authorities accuse him of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, as well as having a serial number that was erased.

Until the evening of Sunday, during which he was in the line of trees on the golf course from 1:59 a.m. to 2:31 p.m., to expand his criminal record, Routh had a extensive history of criminal backgrounds.

In 2002, according to judicial records consulted by various media, he was convicted for the possession of an automatic firearm. Furthermore, the documents reveal other convictions for carrying a concealed weapon, possession of stolen property, and an incident of hit and run.

The registration of your car resulted in the police finding six cell phones, including one that showed a Google search about how to travel from Palm Beach County to Mexico.

A list was also found with dates from August, September, and October, along with places where Trump had appeared or was scheduled to attend, according to the prosecutors. Additionally, in a notebook found in his car, there were criticisms directed at the Russian and Chinese governments, as well as notes on how to join the war in support of Ukraine.
