Man identified who drowned at beach in Santiago de Cuba.

The man who drowned on the morning of this Thursday at Siboney beach in Santiago de Cuba was identified by his relatives as Enrique Tillán, around 53 years old.

Local journalist Yosmany Mayeta reported on his Facebook channel that after four in the afternoon, experts arrived at Playa Siboney in Santiago de Cuba, where since 10:00 AM, when the incident occurred, the deceased man had been lying on the sand with his face covered.

"The man's name was Enrique Tillan, and he was an employee of the Renté thermoelectric plant in the province, neighbors of the area confirmed to the reporter."

A coworker described him as a good friend and colleague.

According to the report, the victim was the father of some young women from the Altamira neighborhood who reside abroad.

One of his daughters, Yaimara Tillan, who resides in the United States, wrote a heartfelt post on her Facebook social media, where she lamented the death of her father.

"Daddy my life, why is life so unfair, you left me and didn't wait for me. Today you leave me with a broken heart, I couldn't hug you or kiss you, I had so many things to tell you but God called you home, I have no words to express everything I feel, RIP, I know you will be in a better place resting as you wanted, someday I will be with you, I will never forget you. I love you DAD," she wrote.

The causes of the man's death are still under investigation.

Mayeta had reported that Tillán was swimming with two other men and two women at the beach, despite the rough sea.

After the incident, it was placed on the sand, where the corpse spent hours waiting for the relevant authorities.

In the afternoon, there was a small group of police at the site, but no doctor or forensic staff had shown up, despite the incident occurring at 10:00 am, said Mayeta on his Facebook page.

This new drowning case adds to a series of similar incidents that have occurred in Santiago de Cuba in recent months.

In August, a nine-year-old boy identified as Danger Curo Padilla died after drowning in the Chalons reservoir, the oldest dam in the country.

The minor was found dead after a desperate search by his family.

In that province, there has been an increase in drowning cases at its beaches and reservoirs, some of them in areas not designated for recreational swimming.

Also, a woman identified as Amarilis Asin Sosa died at Buey Cabón beach, and in May, two young people died at Sardinero beach.
