Cubans help a girl with hydrocephalus to have a new house.

Ester's father thanked for being able to have the new home for when his daughter is discharged.

Ester Lianet Asprón Rey, the two-year-old girl who is fighting against hydrocephalus in Cuba, now has a home in Las Tunas, thanks to the solidarity of Cubans who contributed so that she and her family could have their own home.

Activist Nelson Álvarez -identified on social media as "El Porfiao"- shared the news on social media, noting that after acquiring the house, they have set out to furnish it, as the family was renting and few of the things they have belong to them.

"Together we managed to get her a house, now we are going for more so that the little one can have a dignified life, I can buy some things for her here but I need your help with her GoFundMe," she wrote.

“El Porfiao” accompanied its publication with a thank you video made by Ester's father, in which he stated that “the dream of having a home of our own for my girls has become a reality.”

Ester's case came to light at the end of August due to the need for a self-regulating ventricular valve that the little girl needed to save her life, and which is not available at the Pediatric Hospital of Las Tunas, where she is hospitalized.

This call motivated support from the Cuban community, both inside and outside the island, with donations of money, medicines, and finally the much-awaited valve.

An update on Ester's health status mentions that the fever is subsiding and potassium and protein levels have significantly decreased. With this progress, the girl may soon be able to undergo surgery and return to her family to live in the new house.
