Cuban woman in California surprised by what happened to her in a store: "This scares me because I've already lived this in Cuba."

Cuban in California reflects on state policies and concerns about censorship and the cost of living on TikTok.

A Cuban woman from California shared a video on her TikTok profile (@yarys6) recounting what happened to her in a store, generating hundreds of reactions on the social network. In the post, she describes how, while visiting a store she often goes to, she came across a magazine with Donald Trump on the cover, something that caught her attention because "you don't see any of this here," referring to the fact that she lives in a predominantly Democratic state.

Intrigued by what they were saying, she began to leaf through the magazine, and when she asked about its price, the clerk asked her in surprise, "And you want to read that?" The woman, taken aback by the reaction, replied that yes, to which the employee responded, "Oh my god! This man is so crazy." Not wanting to enter into controversies, the Cuban commented that, in her opinion, "we were much better off before than now."

During the video, the Cuban woman reflects on how she feels about some policies in California, also expressing her concern about the high cost of living. "I have seen posts right now here in California, a room with four bunk beds where they are renting each bed," she affirms.

"We are at a point where people tell you what you have to read and question the political party you like. We are going crazy. This scares me because I have already lived through this. They already told me how I had to think, how I had to express my opinions, and how I had to live my life. Buckle up," she reflects at the end, remembering her life in Cuba. In this way, this Cuban expresses her concern about the current situation.

In the reactions, some users left comments with opinions similar to those of @yarys6. "That's right. And we can't allow that. We have already lived it in Cuba," "I am Venezuelan in California. Terrible what we are experiencing in this state," "I ran away from where they told me how to think, that's why I love Florida," or "That's how it is, and they don't realize that communism is at the doorstep of this country."

What do you think?
