"If you are old, don't come to the United States": Latino sparks controversy on TikTok and triggers a flood of criticism.

Did he cross the line with his comment?

A Latino TikToker (@el_gocha) has shaken social media with his controversial video where he delivers a direct message to those thinking about emigrating to the United States after the age of 45: “If you are old, don’t come to the United States.” In his message, the creator states that jobs in the U.S. are so tough that “don’t even think about it at that age,” asserting that the body can’t handle it if you’re over 45. “This is not for everyone... it’s for young people who can endure these jobs. If you come here old, you will already have illnesses and you won’t be able to handle it.”

The video, which has already surpassed 327,000 views, sparked a flood of responses. Among the nearly 5,000 comments, many users argued that age is not a barrier. One commented: “I am 47 years old and I perform better at my job than any young person”; while another added: “Those who are 45 work harder than someone who is 20.” Other users were harsher and challenged him: “The owner of KFC started at 62. It's not about strength, it's about mindset.”

Some also criticized the TikToker for underestimating the experience of older people: “Young people today are lazier, many 45-year-olds endure more than 20-year-olds”; “There is no age here, everyone has the right and is happy with what they do.” The responses have not stopped, and the video has already surpassed 327 thousand views.

It is important to clarify that what this TikToker says represents only their personal opinion and not an absolute truth, and the heated reaction of users on the platform is evidence of this. Each person has their own path, and age should not be an obstacle to pursuing dreams or seeking new opportunities. What really matters is what each person feels capable of doing, regardless of how old they are. In the end, we all deserve respect and the chance to make our own decisions, without falling into prejudices or stigmatization.
