They update on the health status of actress Diana Rosa Suárez after suffering a heart attack.

The actress is hospitalized in Guyana, being treated by Cuban and local doctors. On Saturday, in Havana, she went to the hospital and they suggested she be admitted, but she refused due to her trip.

Cuban journalist Julita Osendi provided an update on the health status of actress Diana Rosa Suárez, who suffered a heart attack in Guyana.

According to what Julita detailed on her Facebook profile, Diana Rosa is also suffering from pneumonia and was finally hospitalized, as the day before she was on absolute rest at a friend's house on the second floor.

"She is being treated by Cuban and Guyanese doctors. The Cuban embassy has taken charge," he said.

The reporter clarified that when she was treated at the Cardiovascular Hospital in Havana, she was recommended to be admitted, to which she refused due to her flight to Guyana.

"The cardiologists from the Cuban Institute acted with their usual professionalism," he added.

It is expected that this Wednesday the patient will undergo a coronary angiography to know for sure what treatment should be followed.

Last Saturday, while still in Havana, the artist experienced severe chest pain and was taken to the Instituto de Cardiología hospital, where two electrocardiograms were performed on her.

He later flew to Guyana, where local doctors confirmed that in addition to this heart attack, he has another one that is believed to have occurred about three months ago, and they advised him to take a month of complete rest.

Diana Rosa traveled to Guyana to attend an appointment at the United States embassy to process a visa that would allow her to reunite with her granddaughters and nieces.

Her interview appointment was this Wednesday.

According to a person close to the actress who spoke to our media before she was admitted, the doctors said it was not advisable to move her, not even to transfer her to an intensive care unit, because it could be risky to move her down two floors. However, it seems that this assessment has changed.

Previously, Julita Osendi explained that the Ministry of Culture of Cuba was aware of the situation and promised to coordinate with the Ministry of Public Health so that the patient could be treated by the Cuban doctors on mission in Guyana.

On August 30th, Diana Rosa Suárez celebrated her 80th birthday with a big party surrounded by friends and colleagues, such as Tahimí Alvariño, Paula Alí, Verónica Lynn, Néstor Jiménez, Mario Aguirre, Héctor Noas, Miriam Socarrás, and Gretel Cazón, as well as the host Marino Luzardo and singers Beatriz Márquez and Héctor Tellez.

Diana Rosa was born in the Luyanó neighborhood in Havana and is the grandmother of two granddaughters who live in the United States.
