The family of an elderly woman who lives in the Plaza municipality in Havana urgently sought help to find the whereabouts of the lady, who has been missing for several days.
The relatives of the woman, whose name has not been revealed, took to social media seeking the public's help to find her, as they have had no news of her since she left her home.
"Hello, please, we are looking for this person, she is my grandmother, she has not returned since she left and has been missing for several days. Please, if anyone recognizes her, call or write to the following numbers: 58264342, 53165131, or 58264137. She lives in Plaza. Thank you," said Alejandra Jiménez in posts on her Facebook profile.
The young woman did not specify the day when her grandmother's trail was lost, nor did she provide details about what she was wearing when she was last seen.
The alert has been shared by other users, as has become customary in similar cases in Cuba.
Reports of missing persons have been very frequent this past year, as nearly every day there are requests for help from relatives and friends circulating on social media to obtain information that could help locate their loved ones, due to the lack of a state channel in Cuba to do so.
Many people have appeared thanks to the visibility given to their cases by family members, ordinary citizens, platforms, and independent media, as neither the authorities nor the official press in the country publish alerts about disappearances.
This week, a young man asked for help to locate his mother and brother missing in East Havana; meanwhile, an elderly man with mental problems, residing in Mantilla, Arroyo Naranjo, has been missing from his home since the previous week.
The young Karildi Marín disappeared on December 14, 2023, in Havana, and her family has not stopped searching for her since then.
