Jacob Forever is deeply moved by the critical situation his friend and colleague El Taiger is going through, who is in critical condition after being shot in the head.
Through an emotional Instagram story, the reggaeton artist expressed his pain and hope, sending a direct message to El Taiger: "Most people who go through what you went through unfortunately don’t even make it to the hospital," he begins to say. "You arrived with your heart beating and you're still here, how strong you are my brother, I am proud of you, the true tranka of my country," Jacob added, making it clear how important El Taiger is not only to him but to all of Cuban music.
The message closes with a plea that reflects his anguish: "Open your eyes already so they can call me and I'll run to see you," and ends with a declaration of brotherly love: "I love you, brother," tagging El Taiger.
This heartbreaking message comes after several days of uncertainty since last Thursday when it was reported that El Taiger was found in a car in Miami with a gunshot wound to the head. Jacob, like many other close artists, has been sharing his pain publicly. Outside Jackson Memorial Hospital, the same day the news broke, he spoke with journalist Alexis Boentes, where he confessed to feeling devastated: "I feel very bad, like many artists here feel," Jacob said, visibly affected.
The relationship between the two has been close for years, and the blow has left Jacob and the entire Cuban artistic community in deep sadness. "I just ask God that you get through whatever has happened and that we see each other again," Jacob had said in another earlier message, as he prayed for his friend's recovery.
While El Taiger remains in critical condition, the list of Cuban artists, not only from the urban genre, who support him continues to grow. Displays of support, vigils, and prayer chains are taking place not only on social media but also outside the hospital, in various Cuban provinces, and even in Barcelona, where followers and friends of the singer have organized solidarity events to pray for his recovery.
