A Cuban woman from Florida has shared her concern about the possibility of missing work due to Hurricane Milton. While many people express distress over the dangers it poses, the young woman has wanted to share with everyone her worry about the impact that losing work hours could have on her financial stability.
"I have to go to work because, otherwise, I won't have enough to pay the rent, buy food, the car payment, or the insurance," explained the tiktoker @_eslaurita in a video that quickly went viral on the platform.
Hurricane Milton, which reached category 5, is headed toward the west coast of Florida, generating evacuation alerts and danger warnings.
In light of this situation, many Cubans have expressed their concerns on social media, and one of the main worries is missing work, which results in a decrease in income, as this Cuban experiences. "If I lose hours, I lose money; and if I lose money, I can't pay. I can't be without a car or stop paying for insurance," the young woman added.
"I need to get to work, so the water needs to calm down," he concluded, showing his frustration.
Like her, hundreds of people expressed their concern in the comments of the video. "That's why the hotel where I work was giving a room to the workers, and I'm going to stay because work is sacred," "We're all the same," "I can relate, I'm in the same situation," "It's what we all think," and "You spoke for me, I thought it was me," were some of the reactions that can be read in the post by @_eslaurita.
