In the morning, a powerful tornado was sighted approximately five miles northwest of Interstate I-75 while the Miami Weather Service (NWS) issued a tornado warning for South Florida that will be in effect until 9:00 p.m. this Wednesday.

The imminent arrival of Hurricane Milton on the coasts of Florida has caused chaos on the state's roads, as hundreds of thousands of its residents are moving in search of shelter.

To the greater confusion and perplexity of the residents, Miami-Dade County has been the scene of a tornado, according to reports on social media, where images and videos of this atmospheric phenomenon have been shared, surpassing roads and generating more concern among those traveling on them.

On the morning of this Wednesday, a powerful tornado was sighted approximately five miles northwest of the I-75 highway and the Miccosukee Service Plaza, according to a video shared on Instagram by Only in Dade.

For its part, the Miami city meteorological service (NWS) issued a tornado alert for South Florida that will be in effect until 9:00 p.m. this Wednesday.

"While we remain on the northeast side of Milton today, the threat of some tornadoes continues. Have a way to receive alerts!" wrote the weather agency on X, which shared a map illustrating the extensive area that could be affected by tornadoes throughout the day today.

"A tornado watch is issued when a tornado is possible. A tornado warning is issued when a tornado is occurring or is about to occur," the NWS specified.

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) also referred to the high probability of tornado occurrences in South Florida and highlighted the areas that are at greater risk of falling victim to the feared weather phenomenon.
