The Cuban Erick Hernández continues to shine in ball control, and on Saturday he set a new record by achieving 13,985 touches in one hour using any part of his body at the Copacabana hotel in Havana.

Hernández, former footballer and holder of several universal records, overwhelmingly surpassed the previous record of 11,901 strokes, which belonged to the Mexican Abraham Muñoz, as reported on the social network Facebook by government journalist Guillermo Rodríguez.

Despite having passed this test before with more than 12,000 touches, on that occasion the Guinness World Records did not recognize the achievement due to a lack of sufficient evidence.

This time, the Cuban, 58 years old, made sure to have a team of international referees and a complete photographic record to start the process of official validation.

"This test is extremely intense and required thorough preparation," he commented to the digital site JIT.

This new record adds to his already extensive list of achievements, shortly after breaking another mark by balancing a ball for three hours, seven minutes, and 28 seconds while seated, with a weight of 1.5 kilograms on his legs.

With the new feat, Hernández claimed his 80th primacy in his impressive career, cementing his status as a legend of ball control.
