The Cuban Mijaín López, an icon of Greco-Roman wrestling, will be honored at the upcoming International Book Fair of Havana with the launch of a book that collects his impressive sports career, including his five Olympic crowns.
The work will gather chronicles, décimas, and photos about their five consecutive titles under the shadow of the five rings, highlighting their most recent achievement in Paris 2024.
Also, according to the official weekly Tribuna de La Habana, the literary tribute will celebrate not only its achievements in sports but also the cultural legacy it has left in Cuban history.
The information was released by Prensa Latina, highlighting that the book will aim to provide a comprehensive view of López's career, from its beginnings to his impressive victories in Beijing 2008, London 2012, Rio de Janeiro 2016, Tokyo 2020, and finally in Paris, when he decided to "hang up" his shoes.
The publication is a joint effort between the Abril publishing house and the newspaper Juventud Rebelde, and its launch is expected to be accompanied by photographic exhibitions and caricatures, with the intention of bringing the tribute to the entire country.
This book, in addition to being a testimony of Mijaín's journey in sports, reflects the respect and admiration that the champion has earned.
The combination of sports and literature will find in this volume an unforgettable tribute, further elevating the figure of Mijaín López as a symbol of perseverance, effort, and national pride.
