The aunt of Damian Valdez, the man sought as a "person of interest" in the death of El Taiger, is speaking.

The family fears that Damian may be dead, and this possibility - hard for them - is compounded by the media lynching without knowing what really happened.

A woman who identified herself as the aunt of Damián Valdez-Galloso, the man sought by the police as a "person of interest" in the death of El Taiger, recently appeared to request that Damian's family not be criminalized on social media and that they not be exposed.

At the same time, he shared some opinions about El Taiger that could be painful or inappropriate for the singer's followers, who are currently going through a kind of collective mourning for his loss.

In a lengthy live broadcast on her YouTube channel, Evelyn - as the family member is named - harshly criticized some influencers who, in her opinion, have conducted a media lynching not only of her nephew but are also harming the entire family by even sharing family photos on social media.

Evelyn also referred to Ledián Campo Frómeta, Damian's cousin who has been missing since 2017, whose figure has allegedly been used by some influencers as a possible accomplice in what happened, which she considers absurd.

He asserts that Damian's father is an honest, hardworking man with no criminal record, who has dedicated his entire life in the U.S. to working and taking care of his autistic daughter, Damian's sister. The young woman is 20 years old and has not attended classes since the incident, due to the family's fear of any action against her.

It says that Damian's mother, who is a nurse, also doesn’t dare to leave the house for fear that someone will hurt her.

“Sir, put yourself on the other side of the film. He has family,” said Evelyn, who emphasized that, although there is certainly evidence that Damian paid for the motel where El Taiger spent the night before the murder, “it is not known what happened.”

It says that the family filed a report for Damian's disappearance the day after the Hialeah home was raided by the police.

They comment that the family seriously fears that Damian may be dead and that they perceive him as such, and that this possibility -which is hard for them- is compounded by the media lynching without knowing what really happened.

"Maybe Damián is a victim," he speculated. In any case, he insisted that, guilty or not, it is not fair to expose the family.

"It's not fair that they publish photos of a girl who is autistic... and some write 'let's pass the information about your little sister'. That incites violence; they don't even know what's happening with her brother. No one has stopped to think about what has happened to Damian. Let's assume he had involvement, but we must give him the benefit of the doubt," she pointed out.

Evelyn believes that her nephew - if he is still alive by now - might know what happened with El Taiger, that he may have even been a witness to what occurred or that circumstances placed him as part of the situation, but she seriously doubts that he fired the shot that killed the reggaeton artist.

He insists that they were friends and does not think he would be capable of doing something like that; he also does not believe that he alone could move El Taiger.

"My nephew, no matter how big and strong he is, can't handle El Taiger on his own," he stated.

"The person who left him at the hospital didn't have the heart to let him die. They didn't have it. It wasn't that they didn't have the opportunity; the opportunity existed," he said at another time.

One of the most controversial parts of his extensive intervention - and that may hurt the followers of the reggaeton artist the most - was his statement that what happened "El Taiger brought upon himself."

"Sir, let's be honest. I love El Taiger's music, I love it, I like it. I’m an old lady, but I like El Taiger's music, but El Taiger brought it upon himself. In real life, El Taiger brought it upon himself," she said without elaborating on that harsh statement.

At another time, he referred to him as a "criminal," expressing his astonishment at the extreme supportive movement he has generated, support which he believes other causes related to Cuba are more in need of, an idea echoed by several individuals on social media in recent days.

"This Miami has come together - be careful with this, I do not agree with what happened to him - but it has come together around a criminal [...] More people have joined a criminal, because that is what El Taiger is, let's be clear about that, a criminal whose criminality I enjoy just like I enjoy that of Chocolate, but they have united more around a criminal than around the cause of Cuba, and in Cuba as well," he pointed out.

He said that El Taiger "is a beloved artist who has won the hearts of all Cubans," but then he added that "Cubans are tightening."

Finally, a special section in his intervention was led by Alexander Otaola, whom he said is a very bad person, although at the same time he stated that he is very intelligent.

"Either he is too intelligent or people are too foolish," said Evelyn, who claimed that Otaola consciously self-immolated by talking about El Taiger just to divert attention from the much more scandalous case of his former treasurer, who faces a serious accusation of a sexual nature.

"Don't focus more on Otaola. Otaola is putting a blindfold on us and we are falling like rats one by one," he concluded.

The chief of the Miami Police, Manuel Morales, ruled out in a press conference last week that the incident involving El Taiger was a suicide attempt and classified what happened as a "criminal act."

Morales requested citizen collaboration to locate Damian Valdez-Galloso, 49 years old and also known as “el Narra,” who has been declared a "person of interest" in the investigation of the reggaeton artist's case.

The singer died on October 10 after spending a week in critical condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital, after being found in a vehicle with a gunshot wound to the head.

As previously revealed, El Taiger and El Narra shared a friendship, and police investigations indicated that he was one of the last people to be with the reggaeton artist before he was found with a gunshot wound.

In the press conference, Morales explained that the police need to interrogate him regarding the attempted murder that occurred near NW 9th Avenue and 17th Street on October 3rd.

The authorities have offered a reward of $5,000 for reliable information that leads to the whereabouts of Damian Valdez, who is 5'09 inches tall, weighs approximately 186 pounds, has brown eyes and hair, and has tattoos on both arms and on his chest.

The police request anyone with information about the incident to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 305 471-TIPS (8477) or visit the website crimestoppersmiami305.com.
