More than 6 thousand dollars in three days! Cuban woman surprises by revealing what she spent in Cuba.

"I spent 6400 dollars in Cuba": A Cuban woman reveals her expenses and sparks criticism on social media.

A Cuban woman on TikTok has gone viral by revealing that during her last 3-day trip to Cuba, she spent more than 6 thousand dollars. Her video came as a response to the criticism received by another user who claimed that her brother spent 5 thousand dollars on food during his five-day trip to the island. A figure that many considered exaggerated and unrealistic in the current Cuban context.

Defending that it is possible to spend that amount of money on the island, Laritza Alfaro (@laritzaalfaroz on TikTok) detailed the expenses of her weekend trip to Cuba.

"I want to show you what I spent on my last trip to Cuba. I returned a couple of weeks ago," begins the Cuban woman, explaining that she would include all expenses, including the plane ticket, what she carried in her suitcase, and also the cost of accommodation.

First, he mentioned that he bought the ticket the day before the trip and that he flew first class for 700 dollars, justifying the decision because he wouldn't have to pay for luggage. The suitcases, which included items such as medicine, hygiene products, and shoes, cost him around 1500 dollars. He claims that he spent 700 dollars just on medicine.

The accommodation was another significant expense. He rented an Airbnb in Havana for ten people for three nights, at a price of 800 dollars. During the days he was there, he covered expenses for his family and mentioned that they went out twice from the lodging to enjoy the city. One of these outings to a restaurant cost him 800 dollars, and the other was for an evening at a nightclub, where he spent 600 dollars.

"I have everything saved because I manage everything in dollars," he added, emphasizing that he had kept a detailed record of his expenses. In total, adding up the outings and additional purchases in Cuba, he noted that he spent 2200 dollars.

In addition, he allocated 1000 dollars to distribute among family members and left 200 dollars in tips during his stay. He clarified that he did not have to rent a car, which means he saved that expense.

At the end of the video, the Cuban concludes: "6400 dollars was the total cost of my trip to Cuba. It was from Friday to Monday, just a weekend. I say that everyone spends based on what they bring. I don't think it was very expensive, we didn't go out much. And when you bring money there, it has a lot of value, and everything we ate didn't seem expensive to me. Unless when we went out, but being 11 people, I think it was fine."

Reactions on TikTok came quickly, with many users questioning the veracity of her statements, arguing that those figures are disproportionate, while others defended her right to spend according to her possibilities and lifestyle.
