Cuban meteorologist gets a big surprise when he finds a bear in his backyard in Florida.

"What can I do? If anyone has any advice!" said the Cuban in the presence of the visitor.

The Cuban meteorologist Rubén Capote, who works for the Telemundo 49 news, recently encountered the surprising visit of a bear in his backyard upon returning from covering Hurricane Milton.

"Look who I ran into. There is the man. Can you imagine, he thinks he lives here," Capote jokingly commented in a video shared on Facebook in which he showed the animal, apparently a young specimen, skillfully climbing a tree to a considerable height.

Capote explained that everyone was inside the house out of fear of the animal.

"What can I do? Any advice? I called Wild Life Conservation, and they told me that he would be more afraid of me than I am of him and that I shouldn't do anything," he commented in surprise, while expressing astonishment at how high the animal had climbed, apparently in search of food.

"Can you imagine that? And now what do I do? If he decides to live there... and it seems he’s not scared of me. Dad, if you walk over here, I'm going to enter the house at lightning speed... First dealing with Milton and now dealing with this," concluded Capote, who promised to follow up on the story.

The post has gone viral with over 19,000 reactions and more than 2,000 comments, many congratulating Rubén Capote for the coverage he and his team provided on the weather phenomenon, and others with humorous recommendations like naming the little bear "Milton," or never climbing a tree to escape from a bear because you might encounter another one.

Although not as common as the sighting of alligators, it is increasingly possible to find bears in residential areas in Florida.

In mid-July 2023, the authorities in Homestead used donuts to attract and capture a black bear that had been wandering around a neighborhood in that city for more than 24 hours, where the population was frightened.

Another one of these mammals stole an Uber Eats order from the porch of a house in Longwood, Orlando, moments after the driver delivered it.

An adult specimen overnighted at the entrance of a house in Naples, and its peaceful and carefree nap was captured by the security cameras of the owners.

What do you think?
