The Universal Parks in Orlando, Florida, will have a new facility, which will be the fourth of its kind in that southern state, strengthening their competition with Disney.

The opening of the new venue is scheduled for Memorial Day next year, May 22, and will include themed areas based on Harry Potter, Super Nintendo, and "How to Train Your Dragon," as well as monster movie franchises, Universal officials told the AP agency.

Karen Irwin, president and chief operating officer of Universal Orlando Resort, described it as "an important milestone for our destination," and also stated that they are "thrilled to welcome visitors to Epic Universe next year."

Tickets and travel packages for the new theme park will be available next week. Initially, visitors with multi-day passes will only be able to enter Universal Epic Universe for one day, due to anticipated high demand. As part of the multiple entry options, they will be able to combine their visit with the other three parks: Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and the water park Volcano Bay.

In unison, a new hotel will be opened, Universal Helios Grand Hotel, which will join 10 other hotels in the complex.

Last July, Universal Orlando Resort launched a special offer for Florida residents, with tickets that provide unlimited access to their fantastic facilities until December 18, 2024.

For $199 plus tax, the "Florida Unlimited Days Ticket" allows you to enjoy a wide variety of attractions and thrills at theme parks such as Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure.

Without restrictions, this option provides the opportunity to experience more than 60 attractions, including DreamWorks Land, CineSational, Hogwarts Always, and Universal Mega Movie Parade.

Last year it was reported that the Disney parks, its main competition, and Universal in Orlando, Florida, were among the 10 most visited in the world in 2022, according to an index that analyzes visitor attendance at attractions worldwide.

Orlando is a city rich in theme parks, which together attracted 69 million visitors.
