CUPET pipe driver flees after nearly causing an accident in Santiago de Cuba

The driver attempted to overtake a truck.

A driver of a truck from the state company Cuba Petróleo (CUPET) left the scene of an incident on the road involving a girl.

The incident occurred this Friday when the driver attempted to overtake a truck stopped at the crosswalk in Songo la Maya, Santiago de Cuba, and nearly hit a minor who was crossing the street.

The incident, which caused outrage among the neighbors, occurred in a high pedestrian traffic area, said journalist Yosmany Mayeta on his social media.

Witnesses of the incident reported that the truck went by at high speed over the crosswalk.

Upon realizing the imminent danger, the neighbors demanded that the driver stop and take responsibility, but he decided to continue on his way without stopping.

The community's reaction was immediate, with several furious people trying to confront the driver for his obvious negligence, reported the local journalist.

However, despite the protests, the pipe continued on its course, leaving the scene behind.
