A new collapse of the National Electric System is reported due to a "trigger" at the CTE 10 de Octubre.

The disconnection occurred after a "shot" at the 10 de Octubre Thermoelectric Power Plant (CTE) in Nuevitas, Camagüey.

A new disconnection from the National Electric System (SEN) occurred on the afternoon of this Sunday, following a "trip" at the 10 de Octubre Thermoelectric Power Plant in Nuevitas, Camagüey.

According to a brief statement from the Electric Union of Cuba, following the mentioned "shot," the provinces from Ciego de Ávila to Holguín were disconnected and subsequently the rest of the country's territories, due to the fact that the trucks that kept the western part of the island connected also went offline.

Without providing further details, the regime limited itself to saying that it works "tirelessly to restore the National Electric System."

This new outage highlights the fragility of the Cuban electrical system, subjected to high workloads without a major repair in its infrastructure.

Since last Friday at noon, when the complete outage of the SEN occurred, Cubans have been living through an overwhelming and extended general blackout, which has significantly limited their daily activities.

Although the regime has promised that it will find a solution, the crisis has escalated excessively within the country's deteriorated electrical system.

The so-called "shots" have caused more tension in the SEN, which is experiencing total or partial collapses, and thousands of Cubans continue without electricity.

On Saturday morning, during the recovery process of the SEN after the total blackout on Friday at noon, the system collapsed again. The electricity supply that reached a few thousand users and powered the start of the thermoelectric plants through distributed generation disappeared once more, taking with it the hope of overcoming the crisis.

On that same day, the province of Matanzas experienced a total blackout after there was a “trigger during the start-up of the electrical microsystem.”

Important breakdowns have also been reported in Unit 3 of the Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Power Plant in Cienfuegos, and in Generation Block No. 3 of the Antonio Maceo Power Plant, also known as Rente, in Santiago de Cuba. As a result of the latter, a microsystem failure occurred, affecting the provinces of Santiago de Cuba and Guantánamo, leaving them without electrical service.
