A video shared on TikTok shows the daily reality that many Cubans face due to the frequent blackouts affecting the island.
User @taty25653 has shared a video in which she shows how she has had to improvise a way to cook due to not having electricity for much of the day. In the footage, it can be seen that she is cooking with firewood in her backyard, using a pressure cooker.
"Here cooking with a Bolivarian alternative for the Americas. Because since I haven't had electricity since 8 in the morning, I have no other option but to go back to how the Indians used to do it, which is with a pressure cooker," she explains in an ironic tone, referencing the difficulties that Cubans face in their daily lives due to blackouts and the lack of resources to cook conventionally.
The woman continues her message highlighting the desperate situation she is in: "If we don't starve to death, it's because there's no other way to cook the food."
In his final statement, he issues a warning to those thinking of visiting the island: "You already know, if you want to come to Cuba, you know what awaits you," a phrase that reflects both discontent and resignation in the face of an energy crisis that seems to have no nearby solution.
