At dawn this Wednesday, the MLC, a virtual currency used by the government in stores created for that purpose, returned to 265 CUP after temporarily decreasing in value the previous day.
In the case of the dollar and the euro, on October 24, both currencies remain valued at the same rates they have had for several days: 325 for the dollar and 340 for the European currency, according to the tracking conducted by the independent media elTOQUE of the currency value fluctuations.
It is striking to see the limited activity revealed by the informal market amid an increasingly tense economic climate and the reality of a paralyzed economy, as this Wednesday the Cuban government extended the suspension of classes at all levels and of non-essential work activities until October 27.
