Jorge Junior and his son Jaide detained at Panama airport: "This is an injustice."

Jorge Junior and his son were taken off the plane bound for Peru in handcuffs: "We are being unjustly detained."

The Cuban singer Jorge Junior Hernández Carvajal, leader of the group Los 4, and his 21-year-old son, Jaide Hernández, were detained at the Panama airport this Wednesday. They took advantage of the only phone call allowed to them to broadcast the situation live on Jaide's Instagram account, where they expressed their outrage over the incident.

During the broadcast, Jorge Junior reported that he and his son were forced to disembark from a Copa Airlines flight heading to Peru, where they have a concert scheduled.

"I am detained. If I don't make it to the concert, it's because of this. I am being held at the airport in Panama. This is an injustice. They want to put us in court for no reason. We are unjustly detained," said the Cuban singer, while showing his handcuffed wrists, with several security personnel behind him.

After just over a minute of broadcasting, one of the people behind them ordered them to stop the recording.

The specific causes for the detention of Jorge Junior and Jaide in Panama are still unknown. However, the leader of Los 4 described the situation as an "injustice" and urged his representatives in Peru to intervene to clarify the misunderstanding.

This episode adds to a tough time for the Carvajal family following the death of Cuban reggaeton artist José Manuel Carvajal, better known as El Taiger.

On Jorge Junior's Facebook account, they shared Jaide's post stating: "Jorge Jr. and Jaide have just been unjustly taken off the Copa Airlines flight from Panama to Peru in handcuffs. Please share this urgently."
