Flor de Cuba dresses up as Fiona for Halloween and responds to criticism for resembling the animated character from Shrek.

The popular Cuban influencer Flor de Cuba surprised her followers this Halloween by dressing as Fiona, the iconic princess from Shrek. This costume was not just a casual choice, but a clever and bold response to those who have criticized her on social media for her appearance, comparing her to the character of Fiona.

In a video shared on her social media, Flor delivered a powerful message of self-acceptance and resilience while showcasing her transformation into Fiona.

"They tell me I am as ugly as Princess Fiona. Wait a minute, they are comparing me to the only princess who, for the past 20 years, has broken all the standards of cinema and Disney. A princess skilled in martial arts who defeated a gang all by herself," she expressed, defending Fiona's strength and courage as a figure that represents much more than the traditional beauty stereotype.

The influencer went on to highlight how Fiona is a symbol of inner struggle, resilience, and self-love: "She endured years of torture and captivity, didn’t accept herself, and believed that no one would love her if she showed her true self. A princess who learned to embrace her true identity. She freed herself from societal expectations and represented thousands of girls who did not fit the standard beauty prototype."

At 30 years old, Flor confessed that the comparison with Fiona made her reflect and realize that she too embodies values of authenticity and courage. “I don't have to dress up like Fiona to resemble her. I've learned to love myself just as I am; I've found love and I have a beautiful family that loves me with my strengths and flaws," she added. In a powerful closing statement, she thanked those who have criticized her: "Thank you for helping me discover at 30 what my favorite princess is; I would feel embarrassed if I were compared to a superficial princess waiting for a kiss to be happy."

This gesture from Flor de Cuba has been well received by its followers, who have praised its ability to turn criticism into a positive and inspiring message for those striving to accept themselves as they are.
