The Cuban Marianela Ancheta revealed which personal items will accompany her next Saturday at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant.

According to what was shared on the show "En Casa con Telemundo," he will carry with him a very special charm: a coin featuring the singer Celia Cruz, the queen of salsa.

"I have a coin of Celia Cruz that will be my charm. I carry that with me, a notebook, and of course the heart of all Cubans, which may not be something physical, but it will give me a lot of strength," she expressed.

The young woman, who has just been crowned the first Miss Cuba in 57 years, stated that she will aim to highlight the resilience of Cuban women and their tireless spirit at the event.

She revealed that her traditional costume will be inspired by the Virgin of Charity, and although she hasn't seen the complete outfit yet, she assured that it is very beautiful.

He also expressed his excitement about the swimsuit runway. "The way you move your hips is when you can truly be yourself," he said.

Born in Villa Clara 31 years ago, Marianela arrived in the United States at the age of 13 with her mother, after they both crossed the border from Mexico.

"We worked in a bank cleaning floors, restrooms, and taking out the trash. Those were challenging times we went through together, but because of that, I appreciate many things today," she expressed.

Last October, she confessed that she comes from a very humble family and that her inner child can't believe what she is experiencing.

"I was 19 years old, and I spent the nights of December 24th and 31st cleaning the bathrooms of a Walgreens. It was very sad, but look at this change," he/she pointed out.

Almost 20 years after emigrating, she proclaims her pride in representing Cuba at Miss Universe after more than five decades of the country’s absence from the competition.

"I feel extremely happy; I am going to bring joy to all the Cubans on the island, in exile, and around the world," he emphasized.
