On November 16th, after 57 years of absence, a Cuban woman will take the stage at Miss Universe; she is Marianela Ancheta.
The young woman from Villa Clara awaits with eager anticipation the moment to make history in the 73rd edition of the most prestigious beauty pageant in the world.
"Today is the day when my heart beats stronger than ever, because I am here, representing my Cuba on the Miss Universe stage. This dream is the result of discipline, sacrifices, tears, many sleepless nights, days filled with anxiety, and relentless effort. I am here, not just as Marianela, but as a reflection of the strength and passion of every Cuban who never stops dreaming," Marianela wrote in an emotional Instagram post.
Alongside some beautiful photos featuring another stunning look, she added: “This message is not just mine. It is for every Cuban girl who dreams big, for every woman who fights day in and day out. I want you to know that I am not different from you. I come from the same land, from the same hardships, from the same dreams. And if I am here today, it is because I never gave up. Because when life knocked me down 100 times, I got back up 200. And each time I did, I rose stronger. That is the greatest lesson: that our falls do not define us, but how we get back up and continue fighting for our dreams.”
Marianela Ancheta shone in the preliminary round of Miss Universe 2024, showcasing a traditional outfit inspired by Oshun, as well as in a swimsuit and evening gown.
Tonight at Arena Ciudad de México, Cubans from all over the world will be supporting her and hope that she gives her all once again.
