The collaboration "+57," launched by Karol G with various Colombian artists, continues to spark conversation in the reggaeton world. The song itself generated controversy due to its provocative lyrics, which the artists eventually altered. However, the track led to another clash between two well-known urban artists from Puerto Rico: Farruko and Anuel AA.
After Colombian artists came together on this issue, Farruko criticized on social media the lack of unity among Puerto Rican artists and their preference for violent themes in their lyrics. Although he did not name anyone, Anuel AA took the message as a personal attack and responded harshly, defending the new generation of musicians.
The discussion escalated quickly when Anuel called Farruko "dimmed" and ignited a series of incendiary messages on social media. Staying true to his style, Farruko responded by questioning Anuel's authenticity and suggesting that his current relevance is more due to controversy than musical quality. "There's a difference between being lit because of controversy and not being relevant for not being a clown," he said in a post.
This exchange of messages on social media, filled with accusations, has even led Farruko to challenge Anuel AA in a diss track... For now, neither of them has released a song targeting the other, but the tension continues to escalate.
In one of his recent concerts, Anuel AA took the opportunity to add fuel to the fire while Farruko continues to post messages for him.
It is worth noting that in the past, they have had a good relationship and have collaborated together. In fact, on one occasion, Anuel AA stated that Farruko believed in him when no one else did. "When no one believed in me, Farru believed in me. I'm always here for you, in good times and bad!! I grew up listening to your music," Anuel AA said years ago on his social media.
