
Carlos Efrén Reyes Rosado, known as Farruko, is a Puerto Rican singer of reggaeton and Latin trap, as well as a composer and record producer, born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, on May 2, 1991.
Since his beginnings in 2007, Farruko has recorded solo tracks, including "Obsesionado" in 2015, which has garnered over 300 million views on YouTube. He is globally recognized for his collaborations with top figures in the urban genre in Latin America, which quickly climb to the top of the charts, with their music videos reaching millions of views on YouTube. His voice, characterized by a certain nasal quality, is perfect and effective for standing out in songs that feature other vocalists.
Among his early collaborations in 2010 are "I Like His Daughter" with José Feliciano and "To Break the Dance Floor" with Yomo and Daddy Yankee, with whom he has teamed up again on "We Arrived at the Club" or in 2020 on "Relationship Remix," which also features Rosalía, J Balvin, and the Panamanian Sech.
He also has collaborations with Arcángel, De la Ghetto, Sean Paul. In 2013, he continued releasing tracks like 6 AM featuring J Balvin, which reached the top position on Billboard's Latin Rhythm Airplay and Tropical Songs charts, placing him within the global reggaeton scene.
In 2018, with the remix of the song Calma alongside Pedro Capó, it reached the top position in over 20 countries, and its music video garnered more than 2 billion views on YouTube. The song had already enjoyed great success thanks to its creator, the Puerto Rican Capó. In 2019, another remix featuring Pedro Capó and the American Alicia Keys was released.

In 2019, the reggaeton artist found himself in trouble with the Puerto Rican justice system after being sentenced to 16 months in prison for failing to declare over $51,000 that he brought into Puerto Rico via a private flight from the Dominican Republic in April 2018. The artist pleaded guilty to these charges. After posting a $100,000 bail, he was released. He has a clause that allows him to continue his musical work while reporting his artistic tours and remains free without any ongoing legal proceedings.
In April 2020, he recorded the song Homgos in a studio, the latest single from the popular Guatemalan singer-songwriter Ricardo Arjona, whom he acknowledges as one of his major inspirations in music.
In May 2020, Ricky Martin and Farruko released the music video for the remix of Tiburones. The video was filmed using mobile phones from their respective homes due to the quarantine.
In August 2020, the popular Cuban urban music singer Ramón Lavado, commonly known as Chacal, announced that he was working on a new single and its music video with musicians Farruko, Ñengo Flow, and Yomo.
In 2019, along with the Cuban DJ José García, known as IAmChino, famous for his role in the songs of Cuban-American singer Pitbull, he released the reggaeton Baila Riddim, which also featured collaborations from Justin Quiles and Quimico Ultra Mega.
In September 2020, she released "Perfecta," in collaboration with Luis Fonsi, which already had more than 1 million views within 48 hours.
