Carlos Efrén Reyes Rosado, known as Farruko, is a Puerto Rican reggaeton and Latin trap singer, composer, and record producer, born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, on May 2, 1991.
Since his beginnings in 2007, he has recorded solo tracks, leaving behind titles like "Obsesionado" in 2015, which has over 300 million views on YouTube. Farruko is globally recognized for his collaborations with leading artists in the urban genre across Latin America, which quickly rise to the top of the charts and whose music videos reach millions of views on YouTube. His voice, characterized by a certain nasality, is perfect and effective for blending in with the songs where other voices appear.
Among his early collaborations in 2010 are "I Like His Daughter" alongside José Feliciano and "To Break the Disco" with Yomo and Daddy Yankee, with whom he has collaborated again on "We Arrived at the Disco" or in 2020 on "Relationship Remix," which also features Rosalía, J Balvin, and the Panamanian Sech.
He also has collaborations with Arcángel, De la Ghetto, Sean Paul. In 2013, he continued to release songs like 6 AM featuring J Balvin, which reached the top position on Billboard's Latin Rhythm Airplay and Tropical Songs charts, establishing him within the global reggaeton scene.
In 2018 with the remix of the song Calma alongside Pedro Capó, it reached the top position in over 20 countries, and its music video garnered over 2 billion views on YouTube. The song had already achieved great success thanks to its creator, the Puerto Rican Capó. In 2019, another remix was released featuring Pedro Capó and the American Alicia Keys.

In 2019, the reggaeton artist found himself in trouble with the Puerto Rican justice system after being sentenced to 16 months in prison for failing to declare over $51,000 that he brought into Puerto Rico on a private flight from the Dominican Republic in April 2018. The singer pleaded guilty to these charges. After paying a $100,000 bail, he was released. He has a clause that allows him to continue with his musical career while reporting his artistic tours, and he remains free and without legal proceedings.
In April 2020, he recorded the song Homgos in a studio, the latest single by the popular Guatemalan singer-songwriter Ricardo Arjona, whom he acknowledges as one of his greatest inspirations in music.
In May 2020, Ricky Martin and Farruko released the music video for the remix of Tiburones. The video was filmed with mobile phones from their respective homes due to the quarantine.
In August 2020, the popular Cuban urban music singer Ramón Lavado, widely known as Chacal, announced that he was working on a new single and its music video with musicians Farruko, Ñengo Flow, and Yomo.
In 2019, together with the Cuban DJ José García, known as IAmChino, famous for his role in the songs of Cuban-American artist Pitbull, he released the reggaeton track Baila Riddim, which also featured collaborations from Justin Quiles and Quimico Ultra Mega.
In September 2020, she premiered "Perfecta" in collaboration with Luis Fonsi, which already had over 1 million streams within 48 hours.
