Farruko

Carlos Efrén Reyes Rosado, known as Farruko, is a Puerto Rican reggaeton and Latin trap singer, songwriter, and record producer born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, on May 2, 1991.

Although since his beginnings in 2007 he has recorded solo tracks leaving titles like "Obsesionado" in 2015 with over 300 million views on YouTube, Farruko is globally known for his collaborations with the top representatives of the urban genre in Latin America, which quickly rise to the top of the charts and whose music videos reach millions of views on YouTube. His voice, characterized by a certain nasality, is perfect and effective for breaking into songs where other voices appear.

Among his early collaborations in 2010 are "Su hija me gusta" with José Feliciano, and "Pa romper la discoteca" with Yomo and Daddy Yankee, with whom he has collaborated again in "Llegamos a la disco" or in 2020 in "Relación Remix," which also features Rosalía, J Balvin, and the Panamanian Sech.

It also has collaborations with Arcángel, De la Ghetto, and Sean Paul. In 2013, he continued releasing songs like 6 AM alongside J Balvin, which achieved the top spot on the Latin Rhythm Airplay and Tropical Songs charts of Billboard magazine and placed him within the global reggaeton scene.

In 2018, with the remix of the song Calma alongside Pedro Capó, it reached the top position in more than 20 countries, and its music video garnered over 2 billion views on YouTube. The song had already experienced great success with its creator, the Puerto Rican Capó. In 2019, another remix was released featuring Pedro Capó and the American Alicia Keys.

In 2019, along with Nicky Jam and Becky G, he launched the remix of Rebota.

In 2019, the reggaeton artist became involved in legal problems with Puerto Rican justice after being sentenced to 16 months in prison for not declaring over 51 thousand dollars that he brought into Puerto Rico through a private flight from the Dominican Republic in April 2018. The singer pleaded guilty to these charges. After paying a bail of 100,000 dollars, he was released. He has a clause that allows him to continue with his musical work while reporting his artistic tours and remains free and without legal proceedings.

In April 2020, he recorded in a studio the song Homgos, the latest single from the popular Guatemalan singer-songwriter Ricardo Arjona, whom he acknowledges as one of his greatest inspirations in music.

In May 2020, Ricky Martin and Farruko released the music video for the remix of Tiburones. The video was filmed with mobile phones from their respective homes due to the quarantine.

In August 2020, the popular Cuban urban music singer Ramón Lavado, widely known as Chacal, made public the news that he was working on a new single and its music video with musicians Farruko, Ñengo Flow, and Yomo.

In 2019, together with the Cuban deejay José García, known as IAmChino, famous for his role in the songs of Cuban-American singer Pitbull, he released the reggaeton Baila Riddim, which also featured collaborations from Justin Quiles and Quimico Ultra Mega.

In September 2020, he released "Perfecta," in collaboration with Luis Fonsi, which had over 1 million streams in 48 hours.
